Juvenile Pelican
COLOUR PENCIL
Paper: Anthracite Pastelmat 7x9.5 inch
Pencils: FC Polychromos

I have to admit to feeling pretty out of sorts on the creative front of late, but I chose one wonderful photo of many from Mike to get me back into drawing again.
The initial sketch was hand drawn without transferring in any way. I would like to claim I was dutifully practising my freehand, but it was really because I couldn't be bothered to move 12 feet to get the transfer paper. I am very much an energy conservation guru you know!
This one is a solvent free zone, I stuck with Polychromos alone on this one as I wanted to experiment with filling the tooth and seeing what detail I could get in at small scale on a toothy paper. I think i would personally prefer a smoother paper or larger scale to get the detail in, but the pencil went down nicely all the same.
So there you have it, a little experiment that was fun to dabble with. With a bit of luck I will choose and start two pieces soon as I prefer to have two on the go, it can certainly help with some much meeded distraction!
Wishing you all good spirits, fabulous pencil swishing and keep safe thoughts too 😊
