Well, I don't want to say I was slow on this one, but what can i say, I was real slow! It feels like I started it way back when Reagan was in office and Berlin still had a wall.

I have been playing with watercolours a bit as well as experimenting on 1,001 ways to ruin clothes with pastels, something which I have discovered I have a natural aptitude for. These things take time, and of course once I had the full set of fabulous Derwent Lightfast, I spent several evenings just admiring them in different lights.

So it took time, but I had a lot of fun creating textures and values using colour pencils for a city scene that kind of screams 'use watercolour' to me... lashings of OMS in the early stages, a misbehaving ruler, much caffeine and head scratching to try to interpret what I was seeing, but I loved it all the same and enjoyed trying something different.

The Lightfast were a joy to use, utterly scrummy in every way... they have now been safely placed back in their luxurious padded case, having earned a rest until the next piece.

Hope you like it and enjoy your week everyone.
